New Delhi, October 22 (IANS). India has made an important achievement in global environmental protection. According to the Global Forest Resources Assessment (GFRA) 2025 released in Bali by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), India has now reached the 9th position globally in terms of total forest area. Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupendra Yadav described the achievement as a proud moment for all Indians. Writing on social media platform, Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav said that this achievement was achieved due to the schemes and policies for forest conservation and promotion of the Modi government and large-scale tree plantation efforts by the state governments. He also said that this remarkable progress underscores the success of the government’s policies and programs led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi aimed at forest conservation, afforestation and community-led environmental action. Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupendra Yadav wrote in the post, “The Prime Minister’s call for ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ and his continued emphasis on environmental awareness has inspired people across the country to actively participate in tree planting and conservation.
