The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) also expressed support for the iums Fatwa. Chairman of Mui Foreign Relations, prof. Sudaroo Abdul Hakim emphasized that the ium call was in harmony with Mui Fatwa number 83 of 2023 that supported the Palestinian and boycott battle for Israeli products. He has encouraged civil society around the world to strengthen the boycott action against companies that have a connection with Israel. “We encourage all the strengths of civil society in different parts of the world to continue to perform and strengthen the actions of a boycott of Israeli products and the products of any party associated with Israelism and Zionism movement,” Sudarnoto said. As a form of follow -up of the Fatwa, the Indonesian Islamic Student Movement (PMIII) has released a list of 25 foreign brands that are associated with Israeli economic interests consisting of packaged drinks, snacks, cooking herbs, household products and personal care products.
