New -delhi, April 12 (IANS). India is currently working on at least 25 chips with indigenous intellectual property (IP). Union Railway and Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said during a media interaction on Saturday that there are currently 13 such projects underway, which is being led by the Center for Advanced Computer Science (C-DAC), Bengaluru. The Union Minister said that the ownership of IP converts us to the product -dominated nation, which ensures “security” ownership. He said these chips will be built at the domestic level. On this goal, the government is in the systematic overall process of semiconductor design approach in more than 300 organizations across the country, including 250 educational institutions and 65 startups. According to the IT ministry, the purpose of these steps is to enable the era of creativity. In this process, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s perspective is “designed in India as important as the chip design will be made democratic according to” make in India “. The Citus program aims to prepare the industry ready 85,000 manpower at B.Tech, MTech and PhD levels specializing in the objective chip design. The program provides students with full practical experience in chip design, construction and testing. A “Chipin Center” has been drawn up under the C2S program as one of the largest plants installed in C-DAC, aimed at bringing infrastructure for chip design to the door step of the semiconductor design community into the country. In February this year, a new Center of Excellence (COE) was inaugurated in the chip design to meet the demand for skilled professionals in the semiconductor and chip design industry.
