India shouldn't have played matches with Pakistan: Mumtaz Patel
New -Delhi, September 14 (IANS). The leader of Congress Mumtaz Patel has launched a shocking attack on the central government over the cricket match between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup. He said that after the Pahalgam terror attack, India should not have played a cricket match with Pakistan. Mumtaz Patel, citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement, said: “If the prime minister himself said that blood and water could not flow together, how can the game be done? This match is a source of government earnings.” Mumtaz Patel said that India had previously canceled the matches with Sri Lanka and that Sri Lanka also did it with India. He questioned why the match with Pakistan was not canceled when the matches could be canceled with other countries. He said: “As an Indian and conscious Indian, I am not in favor of this match, with the feelings of the victims and their families of the Pahalgam attack in mind.” Patel further said that India banned the movement of trade, YouTube channels and artists with Pakistan. He questioned: “When we banned Pakistani channels, stopped the trade and banned artists, why is a cricket match held? Where there is a profit, this government allows everything. It is not a matter of the congress or BJP, but a matter of India’s feelings and respect.” Mumtaz Patel insisted that India after the Pahalgam attack decided to break all kinds of business and cultural relations with Pakistan. In such a situation, this game is against the sentiments of Crores of Indians. -Ians Aks/DSC shares this story -tags
