Indian Army is holding Agniveer recruitment drive for the first time at the southernmost tip of India

Chennai, October 15 (IANS). The first Agniveer recruitment drive was successfully held in Campbell Bay, Great Nicobar on Tuesday, October 14. The rally was organized by the Army Recruitment Office Chennai under the direction of the Regional Recruitment Office Chennai. The event, held in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, was an important example of the Indian Army’s recruitment drive in the deep southern region, setting a new example of determination, coordination and reach. According to the press note issued by the Government of India, despite the challenges of harsh weather and remote location, the Indian Army has successfully completed this unprecedented recruitment drive using air, water and land routes. This effort was an excellent example of the coordination of the three armies, army, navy and air force and the cooperation of the local administration. According to the Government of India, the recruitment drive was enthusiastically participated by local youth, many of whom came from remote areas of Nicobar district. The overwhelming response to the rally boosted the sense of pride and patriotism among the islanders and demonstrated the effectiveness of the Indian Army’s sustained outreach campaign. The event was the result of months of preparation, including extensive registration drives, outreach programs and pre-rally training sessions, conducted with the full support of the Army’s amphibious contingent. The rally not only provided a recruitment opportunity, but also strengthened trust and cooperation between the armed forces and the local community. The presence of the army at the country’s most remote border underlined its unwavering commitment to national integration and ensured that no aspirant was left behind due to geographical isolation. This historic recruitment rally held at Campbell-Bay symbolizes the empowerment and inclusive approach of the Indian Army. This step is just the beginning of a broader effort to reach out, recruit and empower the youth from remote areas, who will play an important role in building a strong and holistically integrated India. –IANS ASH/DKP Share this story Tags
