India's first electric truck launched in Pune, CM Fadnavis told the benefits

Pune, October 16 (IANS). India’s modern and first electric truck was launched at an event organized in Chakan Industrial Area, Pune, Maharashtra on Thursday. On this occasion Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was also present in the programme. On this occasion, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that this truck was developed in India with the initiative of Blue Energy. This truck is equipped with battery swap technology and will be available at a very affordable price. Charging and replacing the battery is both easy and fast. The special thing is that the battery can be changed in just four to four and a half minutes. This technology will not only completely reduce carbon emissions, but will also save foreign exchange and develop the latest electric truck system in the country. He said that the first operation of this truck will be started on the Mumbai-Pune corridor, where battery swapping and charging facilities will be provided. When the truck drivers reach the exchange station, a new battery will be installed within four and a half minutes and the truck will be able to move forward. The chief minister described it as faster than the process of filling petrol or diesel. Fadnavis said the project aims to revolutionize the electric mobility sector in India, especially in the truck segment. He informed that 10,000 trucks will be produced in the first phase and it has been decided to increase it to 30,000 trucks in the future. The Chief Minister also informed that an MoU for this project was signed earlier in Davos and it was implemented in a very short time. Lauding Blue Energy and SR Company, he said that this initiative has given a new direction in the field of electric mobility and will take India towards an indigenous and sustainable transport system. Fadnavis also said that such electric trucks will not only reduce pollution but also reduce costs in the field of logistics and transportation. This initiative is a beneficial step for both the industry and the environment. He called on everyone to embrace the benefits of this new technology and promote clean energy-based transportation.
