India's retail inflation rose to 2.07 percent in August, and food inflation remained negative
New -delhi, September 12 (IANS). India’s retail inflation was 2.07 percent in August. Compared to July, it had an increase of 46 basis points. This information was given on Friday by the Ministry of Statistics and the implementation of the program. Earlier in July, retail inflation was 1.61 percent. According to the ministry, the food inflation is negative due to inflation that must remain at the lowest levels, which is on an annual basis in August 2025. In August, food inflation was -0.70 percent in rural areas and -0.58 percent in urban areas. Earlier in July, the food inflation was -1.76 percent. In the data released by the government, I was told that in August 2025 there was an increase in the head and food inflation in the rural sector. In August 2025, the head inflation in rural areas was 1.69 percent, which was 1.18 percent in July 2025. In August 2025, the food inflation in rural areas was -0.70 percent, which was -1.74 percent in August. According to the data, the head inflation in urban areas was 2.47 percent in August 2025, which was 2.10 percent in July 2025. Kerala was the highest 9.04 percent in August.
