The trending India’s top coal -producing state is still being fulfilled by coal today. States such as Jharkhand, Odisha and Chhattisgarh are pioneers in this region. The world may move to renewable energy, but coal in India remains the most affordable and reliable source of energy. From September 2024, India yielded 41.162 million tonnes of coal, which is 5.85% more than the previous year. Jharkhand is at number 1 with 26.4% coal reserves. Coal sectors such as Dhanbad and Bokaro are its identity. Odisha has 79.30 billion tonnes of coal. Talchar and Eb Valley Coalphield make it a big contributor. Korba and Raigad region of Chhattisgarh make it India’s third largest coal -producing state. Western Bengals, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana also produce large amounts of coal, especially from Raniganj and Singrauli areas. States such as Maharashtra, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh also play an important role in India’s coal supply. The government intends to produce 1 billion tonnes of domestic coal annually.
