India's youth is the true strength of the nation: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh

Pune, October 16 (IANS). The sixth convocation of Symbiosis Skills and Professional University was held in Pune on Thursday. The country’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh was present at the event as the chief guest, while Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis shared the stage as a special guest. Many dignitaries including Maharashtra Higher Education Minister Chandrakant Patil were also present at the ceremony. During the convocation, chief guest Rajnath Singh and special guest Devendra Fadnavis presented certificates and honor marks to the students. On this occasion, Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor and other senior officials of the university were also present on the stage. The entire campus was filled with enthusiasm, joy and pride. The self-confidence of success and the beginning of a new life was visible on the students’ faces. In his speech, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that it was a matter of pride and privilege for him to be present at the convocation of Symbiosis. Congratulating all the graduate and post-graduate students, he said that this day symbolizes not only obtaining a degree but also taking a new step towards realizing dreams. He told the students that they should not only consider their education as a way to make a career but also make it a medium to contribute to the development of the country. Rajnath Singh also praised the historical and cultural heritage of Pune and Maharashtra in his speech. He said that the land of Pune was not only the center of Maratha power but it was also the main center of India’s cultural consciousness, education and nationalism. This land played an important role in the journey from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Hindavi Swaraj to Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak’s Purna Swaraj. He said that the youth of India is the real strength of the nation and today’s education system should move in such a direction that students become not only job seekers but also job providers.
