International Peace Day: A day devoted to peace, 44 years ago the movement began today, why more important today?

New -Delhi, September 20 (IANS). In today’s era, when world disorder and uncertainty are caught up in Vortex, it has become more important than ever to take concrete steps to bring about peace. Whether it is the war of Russia-Ukraine, or the struggle of Israel with its enemy countries, these are just a few examples that show that the world is moving to turmoil. Many countries reach a small event. War is no longer limited to ammunition, but many countries go beyond human interests and try to push others into the business world and economically. In such a situation, it is in the interests of all to give the message of peace, and the International Peace Day comes before us with the same message every year. This special day is celebrated every year on September 21. This day was first declared a shared date for the creation of a culture of peace in the world 44 years ago. It was recognized in 1981 by the United Nations General Assembly 36/67. International Peace Day was celebrated for the first time in September 1982. Then it was celebrated every year on the third Tuesday of September. In a proposal by the United Nations, it was explained on the day of ‘Remember and strengthened the ideals of peace within and between all nations and people’. Twenty years later, in 2001, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a second resolution, which this day was declared the day of non -violence and truce, which advocated the termination of enmity by promoting dialogue, sight solution and peace education. In the same year, it was moved to a certain date of September 21. The purpose of this day is to reduce violence and strengthen the ideals of peace around the world. In the current global scenario, where so many people suffer from war and violence, the international day is more important than ever. The United Nations chooses a separate topic for this special day each year. This year is the theme of International Peace Day ‘Work for a Peaceful World Now’ and is celebrated at a time when 80 years of establishing the United Nations is completed just after World War II. The United Nations Secretary -General Antonio Guterres himself believes that lives around the world are crushed amid the cruelty and insult of war, the end of childhood and basic human dignity is violated. Antonio Guterres writes in an article on International Peace Day, “From peace soldiers to community members and students around the world, all their own role. -IANS DCH/GKT
