International Teachers Day: Global Honor to the contribution of teachers

New -delhi, October 4 (IANS). International Teachers’ Day is committed to the tireless hard work of teachers and their role in building society. The day is launched in 1994 by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and is celebrated every year on October 5 as a recommendation on the status of UNESCO teachers in 1966. This recommendation sets worldwide standards for teachers’ rights, responsibilities, training, recruitment and working conditions. The theme of the day of teachers 2025 is ‘to redefine teaching as an associated profession’. This theme highlights collaboration, professional development and well -being among teachers, so that they can use their talent fully. Teachers are the pillars of society, which not only give knowledge, but also encourage values, morality and innovation. This day, this day is celebrated by various programs in more than 100 countries, including conferences, workshops, social media campaigns and policy discussions. Organizations such as UNESCO and Shiksha International focus on the challenges of teachers such as lack, low salary, limited development opportunities and isolation. This day inspires policy changes towards the empowerment of teachers and to include education. The National Teachers’ Day in India will be celebrated on September 5 on the anniversary of Dr. Sarveepalli Radhakrishnan, but different opportunities are also held on the international day. Workshops, price distribution and awareness programs are arranged on the Ministry of Education and the state level. Attempts such as the National Mission for Mentoring (NMM) and commercial standard are focused on the training of teachers under the National Education Policy (NEP 2020). International Teachers Day reminds us that teachers are guides to inspire future generations. In the changing world, where technical and social changes present challenges, the associated approach of teachers can make education more effective. Students, parents and policymakers must play an active role for the welfare and professional development of teachers. On this day we can create an inclusive and quality education system with global solidarity. This day has a special meaning in Indian context, where teachers face challenges in rural and remote areas. The government is improving through digital education and continuous training. This day emphasizes the need to provide supportive platform to teachers, so that they are updated with the latest trends. -Ians Sch/DSC
