DPD guarded human schools as implementation of Asta Cita Education

Jakarta – Chairman of the Indonesian Regional Representative Council (DPD) Sultan Baktiar Najamudin expressed full support for the implementation of the People’s School program. This program was started as part of the implementation of the Asta Cita President Prabowo Subianto. “People’s School is a tangible form of government alignments with marginal society. We in the DPD RI fully support this progressive step as part of an attempt to strengthen the basis of national human resources,” Sultan told reporters on Friday (8/8/2025). According to him, the presence of people’s schools in regions such as Kaur became a confirmation that fair education was a strategic priority against Indonesia EMAS 2045. The location of the People’s School in Kaur Regency, continued sultan, passed the verification phase for permanent schools, namely: in Cucupan Village, Muara District and Seman 11 (Renovation). This school will house 100 students (40 high school students and 60 high school students). “Collaboration between the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Public Works and the Regional Government is the key to the success of this program. We need to encourage people’s schools to become national movements,” Sultan said. The sultan emphasized that the success of people’s schools should not only be measured by the aspect of infrastructure. He emphasized the importance of contextual curriculum, adaptable teacher training and social assistance for students, so that the results really touched the root of the problem of educational inequality. “Education cannot just be built from buildings and desk. We have a humanistic, relevant and able to answer the socio-economic challenges of students in the field,” he explained. The sultan is of the opinion, this program must be a symbol of the transformation of national education to a more fair, fair and inclusive system. He hopes that people’s schools can be a powerful tool in alleviating poverty, while strengthening the basis of education ecosystem on the basis of social justice. “We need to make the People’s School as the backbone of the development of the human resources of the country, especially in underprivileged areas. It is a long -term investment against Indonesia EMAS 2045,” he concluded. In the initial Gulf (Stage I), the government has set as many as 100 pioneering spots across different regions of Indonesia. Of these, as many as 63 places work officially since July 14, 2025, with a total of 247 study groups and 6,180 students from vulnerable families and underprivileged community groups. At the end of July 2025, 37 people’s schools also increased and the addition of 59 people’s schools targeted in September. The government is aimed at this stage to start in mid -August 2025, with the support of the development budget of approximately RP206.17 billion.
