Ioji launches book with booking instruments for the economic value of carbon

Jakarta – Indonesia Ocean Justice Initiative (IOJI) launched the book ‘Carbon Economic Value Safeguards instrument’. This book is the result of joint research by IOJI with the Attorney General’s Office and the Ministry of Environmental Affairs (KLH). “This book is the result of joint research, not just IOJI, some of the prosecutor’s office, some from the environment, especially that it later becomes the most important material for the development of safety policy,” said Mas Achmad Santosa, IOJI CEO. Deputy Attorney -General for General Crimes (Jampidum) Asep N Mulyana said there are four things to be considered to enforce carbon -related laws. He said there must be legal certainty, justice, accountability and integrity in carbon matters. “We, the team of Young Prosecutors General for General Crimes, with the help of Ioji, are currently preparing guidelines for handling carbon-related criminal cases, which we have compiled in detail from pre-preference, investigating, later the suspect, phase 1, phase 2, as well as evidence that may be generally different,” he said. Asep said that there should be accuracy and thoroughness in dealing with carbon crimes. Of course, we hope that prosecutors become a kind of guide to use as a reference,” he explained.
