Iraqi Airways is working to get rid of its old and unused aircraft and reduce its fleet to 3 models to facilitate maintenance and audits carried out by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) with the aim of accelerating the lifting of the European ban, according to Nasser Al-Asadi, adviser to the Iraqi Prime Minister on Transport Affairs. He explained in an interview with Al-Sharq, on the sidelines of the International Exhibition for Transport, Airports and Logistics Services held in Baghdad, that the Iraqi airline has contracted with specialized consultants to implement the required procedures, and is in the process of meeting the requirements of IASA, including the restructuring of the fleet to speed up the return of flights to Europe, to express that a time of his confidence being lifted to Europe.
