According to officials from the Department of Irrigation, this is the first pilot project in the state of rainwater storage in drain. If you get good results, such arrangements will also be made in other draws. When rainfall is high, excess water is released into drains of channels or distributors. The excess water that goes through the area is reached the yamuna. If the rainfall is low or after the rainy season has ended, farmers must struggle for irrigation. The irrigation department prepared the state’s first pilot project in Gohana to store water, in addition to rain in the drain. The depth of the drain was increased and the ramps on both sides were confirmed with concrete. Small dams were built at the beginning and end to prevent water. If there is more rainfall, rainwater will be stored in this drain. Second, if the need for channel water for irrigation is less, it can still be stored with channels. The tank was prepared for storing water in the drain from the village of Chhataihra to Khandarai. The tank is 14 thousand feet long and 15 feet deep in the new drain, about 14 thousand feet long and 15 feet deep tank is prepared. In the area where the tank was prepared, the depth of the drain was increased by four to six feet. The driveway on both sides of the drain was confirmed with concrete. To improve groundwater, the lower part of the drain was kept raw. The department will promote microscopic irrigation in the future, the irrigation department will promote micro irrigation in the second phase of this project. Pipelines will be laid from drain to nearby fields. After that, the farmers will get water from the pipelines. Farmers will be encouraged to adopt micro irrigation techniques.
