12 JYOTIRLINGA OF LORD SHIVA
Dharm 1. Somnath Veraval, Saurashtra, Gujarat Somnath is considered the first pilgrimage. The Dwadash Jyotirlinga -pilgrimage starts from the Somnath Temple. 2. Mallikarjuna Srisailam, this temple on the mountain in Kurnool, Andhra Pradeshhayalaseema, has Shakti Panh and Jyotirlingam together. Adi Shankaracharya composed his Shivanand Lahiri here. 3. Mahakaleshwar Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh is considered the only lingam of Mahakal out of 12 Jyotirlingas. It is also the only temple with South face and placed on the roof of the Sanctum Sanctorum. 4. Omkarsshwar Khandwa, Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, presumably has a temple on the island of Mandhata between the Narmada River in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, that Lord Shiva comes here. 5. Ghneshwar Aurangabad, Maharashtritya is that Shivalinga was formed by rubbing the Vermillion of Mata Parvati here. That’s why it’s called Dhwarsheshwar Temple.
