Following Solid Reviews and A Total of $ 160 Million Worldwide, Scream vi Confirmed that the franchise’s rebirth with 2022’s Screen was no fluke. Everything was in place to keep the scares coming with Scream 7but it all hit a snag when the star of the previous two films, Melissa Barrera, was fired from the franchise for sharing pro-Palestine posts that were perceived by spyglass media group to be antisemitic. After her firing, re-co-star Jenna ortega ortega announced she would not be returning, and it was widely reported that the reason was scheduling conflicts with season 2 or Wednesdaywhich then evolved into rumors over a pay dispute. With the Madness all in the Rearview Mirror, Ortega is Revealing The Real Reason why she decided to say goodbye to ghostface and the Screen franchise.
During an interview with the cut, ortega made it clear that not returning for Scream 7 Did not involve the reasons that made headlines in the media. The actress said, “It had nothing to do with pay or scheduling. The Melissa stuff was happening, and it was all kind of falling apart.” When she decided to leave the franchise, the original directors had already departed the sequel and were then replaced by Christopher Landon, before eventually being replaced himself. “If Scream 7 Was not going to be with that team of directors and those people I fell in love with, then it did not seem to the right move for me in my career at the time. “
‘Scream 7’ was nearly derailed by the Exits of Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega
Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega Portrayed Sam and Tara Carpenter, respectively, in the previous two installments. Their roles in the franchise appeared to be putting them front and center to conclude what was intended to be a new trilogy, with nods to the legacy cast that helped make the make the Screen Series A Success. After Barrera was let go, fans rallied behind the actress and hit back at the powers that be for firing her over the posts she shared (the posts she shared on her instagram story that results in her dismissal weren not anti -Semitic). It was certainly a sensitive time due to the nature of the real-life events that were going on, and it’s likely spyglass felt pressure to let her go, but it still did not sit with fans.
