ITR -LIASSING: Does your income tax notice have? Here is how to verify whether it is authentic or false
ITR -Lassing: The ITR -Lassing season is here and if not done correctly, you can receive an income tax notice from the department. Receiving an income tax notice can be stressful for many taxpayers. However, it should also be borne in mind that this is the time when scammers try to target taxpayers by sending false income tax notifications and enforcing money. The Income Tax Division Sends you only an Income Tax Notice if there are contradictions, non-compliance or other matters linked to your ITR submission, or if you have not submitted your ITR within the deadline. But how can you know if your income tax is really or false knowledge? Read on to find out. Income Tax Notification: Real or False? The Income Tax Division has a number of guidelines and protocols they follow when sending a tax notice. Therefore, once you have received a tax notice, see if it is really or false. Before panicking and opening any link by email or SMS, it will be helpful to know how to identify a false tax notice. The first thing to check is whether your Income Tax Notice has a unique DIN number. The DIN number is compulsory for income tax notice and can be compared to a fingerprint as it is traceable. “Each communication by income tax department issued on or after October 1, 2019 must bear a unique identification number of the document (DIN). To satisfy yourself that the notice/order or any communications you receive is sincere and issued by Income Tax Authority, you can verify any notice/order or any communication using this service,” says the income tax. If you have received income tax notice before or after the ITR submission does not have a din, it is not real. “In such a case, the notice/order/letter you received would be treated as invalid and would not be considered in law or considered, as if it had never been issued. You do not have to take any action or respond to such communication, ‘according to the Income Tax Division. ITR -Liberation: How can you identify real income tax notification? You can verify the order issued by the Income Tax Authorities on the E-Liquor Portal using Authenticate Notice / Order issued by ITD service. Here is a step-by-step guide to do this: Step 2: Go on the homepage to the Quick Links section and click on ‘Authenticate Notice/Order issued by ITD.’ Step 3: Enter your DIN and a mobile number of your choice. You can also verify using your PAN, document type, assessment year, issuing date and cellphone number. Step 4: After you enter the details, you will receive an OTP on the cellphone number you entered. Step 5: Once ratified, the screen will display a success message if the income tax notice is real. Otherwise, it will show no record for the given document number. It can be a cause of panic if you receive an income tax notice during the ITR ending season, but it is always advised to stay calm and first verify it to avoid scam.
