ITR- Subscription 2025: More than 7 Crore returns submitted on September 15; errors in e-filing of portal income tax

The Income Tax Division announced on Monday that more than 7 Income Tax returns (ITRS) have been filed so far. The deadline closes today, September 15, after being extended from the earlier date of 31 March 2025. Netizens also complained of faults on site and demanded more time, as the e-filing portal faces heavy traffic before the deadline. ITR Submission of Date Expansion The deadline to submit income tax returns (ITR) remains unchanged, with the income tax department confirming in a post on X that there will be no further expansion. The department also deprived a ‘false post’ that claimed that the deadline was extended until September 30. The last date for non-audit cases to submit ITR without fine is September 15. This applies to revenue earned in the financial year 2024-25. Last year, about 7.28 crore ITRs were submitted by the July 31 expiration date. A non-audit case refers to taxpayers whose accounts should not be audited. It is important to note that the lack of deadline will not only attract a fine, but also have other consequences, such as the loss of repayment interest and incompetence to continue losses, among other things. “We thank our thanks to taxpayers and tax staff for helping us reach this milestone, and calls on everyone who has not submitted ITR for AY 2025-26 to submit their ITR,” the income tax division said. Netizens complain about mistakes about portals. The IT section also considered and recognized many posts. “Sir, since 13 Sep, I have tried to submit ITR 1, but have not been able to do so; The site is not working. I also mentioned the toll -free number, but did not receive any concrete answer (sic), ‘a user complained. Another user said that “the on -screen login has not been loaded since 2 hours. Unable to fill ITR”, to which the IT department responded by advising the taxpayer to clean their browser box or to access the portal through another browser. One user has criticized others for complaining about the portal errors by saying: “The site generally worked well, except today. Technical errors are expected on the last day, which is very obvious. I don’t know why people wait until the last day of the deadline.” The Income Tax Division also mentioned in the X -mail that their assistance desk is functioning 24/7 to help taxpayers with ITR submission, tax payment and other related services. Those seeking support can receive it through calls, direct chats, Webex sessions and Twitter/X.
