“I’ve never thought that in my own country …” Racism showed his awful face in the capital Delhi, the woman expressed her pain by sharing video.

A Meghalaya woman shared a video telling her or her ordeal. She said she was injured by racist remarks twice in Delhi and feel isolated in her own country. This incident occurred once on the streets of Kamla Nagar and the second time while traveling in the subway. In the video, the woman says that some people have driven scooters in Kamla Nagar. As she passed them, a man made a racist remark and said, ‘Cheong Cheong,’ and others started laughing. She says, “I stopped and looked at them, but they all made fun of me. I didn’t understand anything at the time. I still stayed silent and kept walking to the store.” A little later, as he traveled with the subway, another man overtook him and said, “Ching Chong China.” In the video, the woman says emotionally: “In my own country, I felt like I didn’t belong here. It breaks my heart. My only ‘mistake’ is that I was born in India and my appearance is different from the rest.” The woman shared the video on Instagram and wrote: “For the people of Delhi who thought ‘Ching Chong China’ was a joke, you not only insulted me, but everyone who ever felt like an outsider in their own country.” In the caption of her post, the woman wrote: “To those in Delhi who thought ‘Ching Chong China’ was a joke – you didn’t just offend me. You offended everyone who felt ‘different’ in their own country. India is full of diversity. Our faces, our languages, our cultures – all are valid. You don’t have the right to decide who She continued, “I cried today, tomorrow it could be you, or it could be worse than I experienced. It is a warning: Racism thrives in silence. I will not remain silent and I want to end this racism, not with revenge, but with love, because that is what my parents taught me.” Share this story -tags
