A wonderful scene by Jeth Month was seen in Pratapur block of the Chatra district on Friday, which brought back memories of many elders. The storm rain, which started around two in the afternoon, showed its effect for three consecutive hours. The flow of water suddenly increased in the Dry Morhar River, which caused a surprise and concern for people of many towns, including Kaura, Bharahi, Mathurapur. According to locals, such rain and river flow in the month was not seen over the past 40 years. Kalyan Sharma, a resident of Kaura Village, said the river suddenly flooded. Never seen in Jeth before. This change is a sign of the severity of the weather. Bhatullah Rizvi of Bharahi said he heard from the elders that there was rain in the Jeth in the earlier era, but now he himself sees how the river was faster. The mood of the weather is no longer reliable. Binod Pathak of Mathurapur said the rain was good, giving the lands moisture. But with the increase in the water level of Morrhar, it is clear that we must be attentive. If such rain also occurs in Sawan and Bhado, the banks of the towns can be threatened. It is striking that the rain benefited the fields, and after many years moisture returned in the soil in May. However, this sudden increase in water level also indicates climate change. Environmentalists believe that the occurrence of untimely and excessive rainfall is now becoming normal, causing new water management challenges in rural areas. The meteorological department reported that this rain occurred as a result of cyclonic pressure made in the bay of Bengal, and that in the following days there was a possibility of more rain.
