Mumbai, October 18 (IANS). There are many names in the world of Bollywood and standup comedy, but there are a few faces that grab everyone’s attention with their hard work, simplicity and different style. Jamie Lever is also one of those faces. He created his identity on his own. Very few people know that before comedy, Jamie worked as a marketing manager in a corporate company. His grip on office tools like Excel and Power Point is as strong as he is on the punch of comedy. Jamie Lever was born on 19 October 1987 in Mumbai. She is the daughter of the famous comedian Johnny Lever, but she never adopted her father’s identity as her own. In childhood, Jamie received very little support from his father, as Johnny Lever was very busy with film work, often shooting four to five films a day. In such a situation, Jamie and his brother were raised primarily by their mother. However, when both the children began to grow up, Johnny Lever began to spend more time with the family. Jamie was educated in Mumbai but he moved to London for further studies. He did his Masters in Marketing Communication at Westminster University, London. After completing his studies, he did not take the path of comedy but started working in a corporate company. He worked as a marketing manager in a well-known market research firm in London. His role there was quite professional, making presentations for clients, preparing reports, planning market strategies. He believes that this corporate experience remains very useful to him even today, be it a brand campaign or show management. Although everything was going well in corporate life, Jamie always loved acting more. He gradually started performing at open mics in London comedy clubs. The appreciation she received from the audience there encouraged her and she decided that she would now turn her passion into a profession. After this he decided to return to India and started standup comedy in Mumbai. In Mumbai, he started making his mark on TV with reality shows like ‘Comedy Circus Ke Mahabali’. After this, he made millions of people laugh through social media with his mimicry and comic videos. Her impersonation of Kangana Ranaut, Farah Khan and Sridevi went viral on social media. Along with stage performances, Jamie also ventured into films. She made her Bollywood debut in 2015 with ‘Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon’. After this she was seen in films like ‘Housefull 4’, ‘Bhoot Police’, ‘Krack’ and ‘Yatrion’. Along with acting, Jamie is also very fond of his mother tongue. In the year 2024 he also debuted in Telugu cinema and dedicated that film to his grandmother because his grandmother doesn’t understand Hindi well. Today, Jamie Lever has made his way into millions of hearts through comedy, acting and social media. –IANS PK/AS
