Jammu and Kashmir: Approval for the construction of 5.061 new houses for affected disasters, Manoj Sinha expressed gratitude to Premier Modi
Srinagar, September 27 (IANS). The central government approved the construction of 5.061 homes in Jammu and Kashmir under a special project by Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (Pmay-G). Its purpose is to give relief to families with homes damaged in the recent natural disasters in the rural areas of the Union area. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant -Governor Manoj Sinha gave this information on Saturday. The Lieutenant -Governor wrote on the social media platform ‘X’, “I am grateful for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Minister of Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chauhan, who has approved the construction of 5.061 homes that have been damaged due to recent natural disasters in rural areas of Jammu and Kashmir.” He wrote in another post, “This approval under the special project of Pmay-G will bring back safety and stability in the lives of thousands of families. A new home will enable families to achieve economic stability, which will improve family’s wealth.” Earlier, the Jammu and Kashmir government said on Monday that it would contact the center for rapid help from people affected in the trade union area. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah served a high-level meeting for extensive review of flood aid and rehabilitation measures in Jammu and Kashmir. He instructed all departments to accelerate their assessment, so that the estimate of relief and rehabilitation could be submitted to the center without delay.
