Home Alarm Alerts Woman to Someone in Backyard, Shock Over Who’s in Pool – ryan
A woman has recorded the nerve-wracking moment when she returned home following a security alarm text.
On April 12, Heather (@heatherk122) was alerted by the alarm system that her back door was open. So, she rushed home, only to find the culprit was still in her house. According to research company SafeHome.org, around 94 million U.S. households use some type of security system such as cameras, alarms, or access control tools.
Fortunately, it wasn’t a burglar—it was her golden retriever Remy, who somehow managed to open the door and have her very own private pool party.
The footage of Remy proudly running over to her owner—soaking wet—racked up almost 873,000 views and more than 97,900 likes at the time of writing. It ends with Remy relaxing on a towel while drying off following an “adventure day.”
Newsweek reached out to @heatherk122 for comment via TikTok. We could not verify the details of the case.
The clip captioned: “At least it was just Remy swimming and having the time of her life!” has given many a serotonin boost. But is it safe for canines to swim in chlorine pools?
According to the American Kennel Club, while chlorine levels in pools are generally safe for dogs, their eyes and ears are more sensitive than humans’, making them more vulnerable to irritation. However, ear infections in dogs—especially those with floppy ears—are typically caused by moisture rather than chlorine itself.
Overall, chlorine is safe for dogs if they’re properly cared for during and after swimming. One of the biggest misunderstandings is how dogs should be introduced to the water.
It’s important to let your dog approach the pool at their own pace, offering encouragement and praise along the way. Never force or throw your dog into the water, as many can be nervous or afraid during their first experience. To make things easier, try guiding them in gently or using a toy to entice them. The good news? Most dogs instinctively know how to swim.
However, owners are advised against leaving their furry friend to swim unsupervised. But in this case, it looks like Heather had no choice, as Remy couldn’t resist a dip.

Over 1,300 users have commented on the clip, and the top one alone has 12,000 likes.
It said: “God forbid a girl have a pool day!”
Another user said: “Remy: ‘This was the best day..’” to which Heather replied: “She was so happy when I got home! The house had puddles all over.”
A third commenter shared their theory: “What if…someone did break in, Remy did her job, burglar ran off and Remy rewarded herself.”
