This government’s pharmacy center that runs under the prime minister’s Bharatiya Janaushadhi project offers cheap medicine daily to 500 to 600 people. The generic medicine available here is cheaper with 90 percent compared to private medical stores. In an area like Rajouri, where a large number of people depend on limited income, this center has become an important source of relief to the people. Local resident Shazia said: “Now I easily buy my blood pressure medicine, there was worried prices earlier. This scheme is no less than a blessing to people like us.” The doctors of GMC Rajouri also appreciated this initiative. He says due to obtaining cheap medicine, patients take medicines on time, which produces better treatment.
