PARPARE – Residents in the city of Parpare, South Sulawesi (South Sulawesi), found a bunker while dug a hill with a spade. The bunker was suspected of Japanese heritage during World War II. The bunker was found Wednesday (6/8) afternoon in Jalan H Andi Muhammad Arsyad, Bukit Indah Village, Soreang district, Parpare. The bunker consists of 6 holes and 5 of them are connected. “This is actually an excavation activity in the location. It’s been going on for a few days. However, this bunker was found by a digger on Wednesday afternoon,” said Soreang Sub -district Head, Awaluddin, by detiction, Friday (8/8/2025). Then there is a large room of 4×4 meters. “We entered the first hole earlier, it turned out that there was access to connect. There was only a lot of garbage and stacks, so the link was quite small. If it was big,” he explained. Independent researcher named Joko suspected that the bunker was a defense facility for Japanese troops. He estimated that the bunker was built between 1942 and 1945. “It is presumably a Japanese defense facility in the 2nd World War I era.
