Jharkhand BJP working president accuses Hemant government of betraying backward classes
Jamshedpur, October 16 (IANS). Jharkhand BJP state working president and Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu accused the JMM-Congress-RJD coalition government of Jharkhand of betrayal of the backward classes. He said that in the municipal elections, the government has fixed a maximum of 14 percent reservation for the backward classes, while all three parties have promised in the election manifesto to give them 27 percent reservation. Addressing a press conference in Jamshedpur on Thursday, Sahu said, “The backward class population in Jharkhand is around 50 percent, but the Hemant government is ignoring their rights. This government is neither honest in its policies nor in its intentions.” Aditya Sahu said that only after the instructions of the court, the process of triple test was completed to determine the reservation of backward classes in the state, otherwise the same government held the Panchayat elections without giving reservation to the backward classes. Keeping the elections of all the bodies pending for three years in the name of triple test survey is also undemocratic. Taking a dig at the Congress, he said, “It is the Congress that kept the Mandal Commission report in cold storage for years and never gave constitutional status to the Backward Classes Commission.” Sahu said that only the BJP and the NDA government has done the job of providing respect and rights to the backward society. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself hails from a backward class, the Vice President is also from the same community and the Modi government itself has given constitutional status to the Backward Classes Commission. Sahu alleged that the Hemant government has lost the confidence of every section. Neither the tribals, nor the Dalits, nor the backward classes, nor the upper castes are happy. This government has proved to be a failure on every front. –IANS SNC/DKP Share this story Tags
