Jharkhand: Meeting on Ghatshila by-election preparations, all polling stations will be developed as model huts.

Ghatshila, October 12 (IANS). What held the preparations for the by-election on November 11 at the Ghatshila meeting of Jharkhand, the chief election officer of the state K. Ravi Kumar held a meeting with senior police administrative officers of the Kolhan division on Sunday and given the necessary instructions. He said that all the 300 polling stations created for this by -election will be developed as model huts, where electricity, water, ramps and other necessary facilities will be assured. At the review meeting held in the Ghatshila Subdivision Auditorium, the chief election officer said that the Guidelines of the India Electoral Commission should be followed in letter and spirit and that all the work must be completed within the specified time. He said special monitoring is done in cases of violation of the model code on social media. He instructed the officers to hold a meeting with the social media representatives of political parties and candidates and explained the guidelines of the commission on ‘DOs and what not’. It has been told that this time many new arrangements are being implemented in the voice and election process, such as the names and order of the candidates, and their color photos will also be printed on the EVMs so that it becomes easier for voters. Similarly, the facility to vote from home will be made available for the disabled and voters over 85 years by ‘Saksham App’. Arrangements for vehicles, wheelchairs, ramps and volunteers must be made for voters who want to vote in the center. Instructions were also given during the meeting to monitor police positions in border areas and take strict action against illegal drugs, cash transactions or suspicious activities. Of. Ravi Kumar said the commission’s attempt to secure the maximum voting percentage by making voters aware of their rights. Instructions were given to perform special awareness campaigns at the huts where there was less rise earlier. IG Operations Michael Raj, Deputy Commissioner-Cum District Election Officer Karan Satyarthi, Dig Dhananjay Kumar, Kolhan Dig Anuranjan Kispotta, SSP Piyush Pandey and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
