Jharkhand: Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana has changed the life of Kavita Devi, smoke -free life

Sahibganj, September 18 (IANS). Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUy) is no less than a blessing to Kavita Devi of Badalla Mirza Chowki Village in Mandro block of the Sahibganic district of Jharkhand. This scheme not only facilitated his life, but also provided smoke -free and healthy lifestyle to his family. Kavita Devi said that the gas connections found under this scheme eliminated her everyday problems to a large extent. Kavita said we had to have many problems with cooking a wood stove earlier. The smoke that resulted from burning wood was not only harmful to our health, but it also made the atmosphere of the home unhealthy. It took earlier hours to cook, making it difficult to send children to school on time. Problems such as fire feelings in the eyes and the shortness of breath were common. In addition, time and hard work was wasted to collect wood. There was a big change in our lives after we got a gas connection under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala scheme. Now there is time saving in cuisine and there is no smoke in the house. Kavita expressed happiness and said: “Now we cook on time, there is no delay in sending children to school and the atmosphere of the house is also clean. The facility of gas stove not only improved our health, but also arranged our routine.” This scheme in the Sahibganic district especially empowered rural women. Kavita said: “This plan is a great relief for us. Now we can give more time to our children and family.” The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was launched on 2016 and aims to provide free LPG connections to poor and underprivileged families so that they can use clean and safe fuel. This scheme has improved the lives of millions of women in rural India.
