Jharkhand: Three health professionals rejected in the case of buying and selling newborns in Gumla.

Gumla, October 7 (IANS). The Department of Health acted strictly after two severe cases of trading of newborn babies came to light in the Gumla district of Jharkhand. Community Health Officer Rimjhim Lakra, Rural BTT Didi Suman Kujur and Sahiya Parvati Devi working in Raikera block were immediately rejected for their involvement in this matter. This order was issued with the signature of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Gumla. With a view to this serious matter, the District Deputy Commissioner Prerna Dixit has compiled a three-member investigative committee. This committee was established chaired by Gumla Division Officer, in which civil surgeon and Raidih Block Development Officer members were made. The committee was instructed to submit a detailed investigation report within two days. Two incidents related to buying and selling newborn babies came to light three days ago. The first case is related to the Mokro town Raidih police station, where a girl became pregnant due to a love affair and a child in Chhattisgarh. She was later brought to Ranchi and her newborn baby was allegedly sold in Odisha. The second case is related to Suman Ekka of Kudo Chhatarpur Village of Raidih. On the morning of September 10, she was admitted to CHC Raidih due to labor pain. At 06:45 in the morning she bore a child. It is alleged that BTT sister Suman Kujur of the same center seduced them and convinced them to sell the child. The buyers were called to the hospital and the child was shown and signatures from all parties were obtained on seal paper. When the maternity hospital was discharged on September 12, BTT Didi took the child and handed it to the buyer. It is said that large amounts of money were carried out in both of these transactions. After the matter reached the administrative level, many shocking revelations came to light.
