Joe Biden starts radiation, hormone therapy to fight 'aggressive' prostate cancer
Former United States president Joe Biden is working on radiation and hormone therapy to fight the ‘aggressive’ prostate cancer he was diagnosed with in May 2025, a spokesman said on Saturday, October 11. Joe Biden, who turns 83 years old, then revealed that he has an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has spread to his legs. The spokesman said: “As part of a prostate cancer treatment plan, President Biden is currently doing radiation therapy and hormone treatment.” The former president underwent a procedure known as Mohs surgery in September to remove cancer cells from his skin. What is MOHS surgery? According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), Mohs micrographic surgery is a tissue-saving, exact method of removal of skin cancer. It is named in honor of the surgeon who developed the technique, Frederick Mohs. It is a surgical approach that reportedly provides ‘high healing rates’ for treating a variety of skin cancer, including basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and paving carcinoma (SCC).
