Jubin Garg's death will be judicial investigation, CM has drawn up commission in terms of the chairmanship of the Supreme Court Judge
Guwahati, October 4 (IANS). Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister of Assam, met Garima Garg, wife of the late singer Zubein Garg, at her home in Kahilipara on Saturday night. He made an important announcement about establishing a judicial commission to investigate the mysterious death of singer Zubeen Garg. Chief Minister Sarma spoke to the media after the meeting and made it clear that his visit was a personal meeting, not official. He said, “I came to their pain.” The chief minister said that the Assam government had drafted a judicial commission under the chairmanship of the Judge of the Guwahati High Court, Judge, Somitra Saikia, to investigate the circumstances associated with the death of Zubeen Garg. Sarma further said that this is the first time in Assam that a working Supreme Court Judge has entrusted such responsibility. This commission will have the right to monitor the CID investigation and ensure complete transparency. The commission will provide a platform for anyone who wants to share information regarding the matter. The government intends to make its findings public after the investigation is completed. The famous Assam singer and cultural icon Zubeen Garg died on September 19 in a diving accident in Singapore. Zubeen Garg was 52 years old. Zubin, who will attend the North East festival, dives on the coast on the night of September 18, when there were problems with breathing. Police in Singapore took him out of the sea and took him to the nearest hospital. Despite intensive treatment at ICU, doctors couldn’t save him. Zubeen Garg was from Jogijan Village in Assam.
