Jakarta – Solidarity of the Indonesian Judge (SHI) welcomed President Prabowo Subianto’s decision on the increase in the salary of judges. Shi considers Prabowo’s decision to be a constitutional recognition of the rights that have been delayed. “Solidarity of the Indonesian Judge (SHI) welcomed and respected this strategic decision,” Shi spokesman Catural Alfath Satriya told reporters on Thursday (12/6/2025). “For us, this decision is not a gift, but a constitutional recognition of the rights postponed,” he added. Furthermore, Shi encouraged that the reform steps on the increase in salary as a whole continued and constantly with: 1. Strengthening the guidance and supervision system of judges. 2. Application of transparent and fixed reward and sanctioning systems (reward and punishment) to maintain integrity. 3.. Comprehensive improvement of the pattern of promotion and mutation of judges to be more accountable, meritocratic and free of transactional practices. 4 5. Ensure security for judges and their families, given the many threats and pressure to perform their duties. 6. Increasing public participation in an attempt to reform courts. Judges’ salaries have previously risen, President Prabowo announced the increase in the judge’s salary. The value of judicial salary increases to 280%. “I am Prabowo Subianto, the 8th president of the Republic of Indonesia, announced that the salaries of judges will be raised for the well -being of the judges,” Prabowo said while attending the judge at the Supreme Court building.
