A City Civil and Sessions Court in Bengaluru sharply rebuked Kannada actor Darshan ThoguDeepa after skipping a scheduled trial in the Renukaswamy murder case on Monday, April 7, due to “severe back pain”. However, Tuesday night, Darshan was seen during the performance of his film, Vamana, in Bengaluru. On the day of the hearing, Darshan’s legal lawyer informed the court that the actor could not appear due to severe back pain. The court expressed dissatisfaction and reiterated that personal incidence was compulsory for all accused in the case, and rejected the idea that individuals with high profile releases could seek without a valid legal justification. The court also warned that such absences should not be routine, especially in a case of this magnitude. Actress Pavithra Gowda, who is co -accused, was present in court with several others for the trial. During the court hearing, Darshan’s lawyer also sought the release of £ 75 Lakh cash that was confiscated during an attack on his home in connection with the investigation. The court said he would hear the response of the income tax department before deciding on the case. The next date of trial was set on May 20. The defense also filed a separate plea with the return of cell phones that seized during the investigation. Renukaswamy Murder Case The case relates to the death of Renukaswamy, a 33-year-old resident of Chitradurga, whose body was found in June 2024 near a stormwater drain in Bengaluru.
