Vikramjit Singh alias Vicky, accused of robbery in police custody, grabbed the revolver of an ASI in B Block of Ranjit Avenue and fired on the pretext of urinating. Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that on October 8, Vicky along with seven-eight armed associates committed a robbery in a house on Ranjit Avenue. He looted fifty thousand rupees and two rings. Police arrested Vicky and his three associates from Hoshiarpur and recovered three pistols and two cars. Vicky admitted in police custody that the other accused live in Tarn Taran. On Saturday, the police took Vicky to Tarn Taran when he stopped the vehicle near Gurdwara Sahib in B Block on the pretext of going to urinate. As soon as the vehicle stopped, Vicky attacked the ASI, grabbed his revolver and opened fire. The police retaliated and injured Vicky.
