Mumbai, October 8 (IANS). The famous director producer Karan Johar has completed many years in the industry. The director expressed his happiness through a position on social media thanking the fans. He shared a special mounting video of his films on Instagram, giving a look at his career. Karan wrote in the caption: “For years we create stories of love, friendship, family and emotions. Thank you from my heart for being a part of our film journey.” Karan started performing with the TV series ‘Indradhanush’ in 1989. After this, in 1995, he worked as an assistant director in ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’. In 1998 he debuted as director at the film ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’. The film deserves a lot at the box office after its release. The film starred Shahrukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukherjee in lead roles. After this, in 2001, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ also won the hearts of the audience, with stars such as Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh, Kajol, Kareena Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan. This film by Karan, who started as a producer with ‘Kal Ho’ in 2003, was also a superhit. However, his produced film ‘Bare’ in 2005 was a flop. ‘Kabhi Alvida to Kehna’ in 2006 and ‘Dostana’ in 2008 again created a stir at the box office. From 2009 to 2018, Karan gave hit films such as ‘Wake Up Sid’, ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Dewani’, ‘Raazi’, ‘Simmba’, but films like ‘Kurfire’, ‘Shaiandaar’, ‘Baar Dekho’ was disappointing. Karan even tried in the OTT era, but besides ‘Shershaah’ (2021), films like ‘Gahriayan’, ‘Lighter’, ‘Drive’ couldn’t impress the audience. ‘Kesari’, ‘Good News’, ‘Suryavanshi’ and ‘Brahmastra’ have certainly succeeded in theaters. Karan also introduced many new faces and created his own special place in the industry. -—IANS NS/ABM shares this story tags
