Karnataka: Governor Thawar Chand Houlot inspired farmers in seed bursary
Dharwad, September 14 (IANS). On the seed bursary held at Dharwad Agricultural University, the Governor of Karnataka, Thawar Chand Gehlot, addressed the Boers on Sunday and emphasized innovation and self -sufficiency in the agricultural sector. Governor Thawar Chand Houlot addressed the people, said: “This scholarship will increase the confidence of farmers and will become a source of inspiration for other farmers. Dharwad Agricultural University has developed many advanced seed varieties through extensive research, which will also be beneficial to farmers. This work will continue in the future.” The Governor described farmers as Annadata and committed agriculture to the basis of religion. He emphasized the need for modern farming and said: “Hard work is needed for the highest yield in the world. This scholarship is a medium to deliver quality seeds to the farmers, which will have more crop and economic benefits.” Gehlot advised farmers to focus on the cultivation of fruits and flowers, as it can earn good profit. He insists to take advantage of the conversation with the scientists present in the fair and take on new techniques and say: “Farmers must grow crops according to international demand. Only modern farming can produce better yields.” He emphasizes the use of new techniques, referring to challenges such as pests, floods and droughts. Also called on youth and women to come forward in agriculture. He said: “Agriculture is now attracting youth and women. They come to the fair and gain valuable experience.” The governor explained about the Kisan Welfare Schemes of the Central and State Government and said that farmers could make agriculture more profitable by using it properly. He also appreciated the important role of agriculture in Premier Narendra Modi’s ‘self -reliant India’ vision.
