Karnataka govt targets RSS to hide its failures: Prahlad Joshi

New Delhi, October 16 (IANS). Union Food and Civil Supplies Minister Prahlad Joshi said that the state government is trying to ban RSS to hide its failures. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi on Thursday, Minister Joshi said the situation in the state is clearly turning against the Congress government. He further said that the failures of the government at every level, obstruction in development and internal strife are being discussed within the Congress. He said, “The government has hatched this conspiracy to divert attention from all this. Let’s see what notice the Karnataka Congress government issues against the RSS. Only after that a decision will be taken. The RSS will first discuss the action taken by the government and then decide on the response. After that we will decide our stand.” He further said that a state minister has written a letter to the chief minister about the RSS and the chief minister has also written a letter to the state secretary. “They are talking about adopting the Tamil Nadu model. Today Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister HK Patil raised the issue in the cabinet meeting and took steps to act,” he said. Describing the failures of the government, RV Deshpande, Basavaraj Rayareddy and MLA Raju Kage openly expressed their displeasure. “To resolve these issues, the state government is attacking the RSS and trying to divert the issue,” claimed Joshi. “Last year, when MLAs revolted against the government, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah promised to release Rs 25 crore for each constituency and additional funds for road development. But where was it given? Money was not even released to fill potholes,” he claimed. He said that before coming to power, the government had announced to provide 200 units of free electricity to all, but later they added 10 percent additional charges on usage and cheated the people. –IANS SCH Share this story Tags
