Uttarkashi, October 14 (IANS). Kedartal, located in the heights of the Gangotri National Park, remains a symbol of the infinite peace and incredible beauty of the Himalayas. This lake is located at a height of 4,750 meters above sea level, and is considered one of the most beautiful lakes of the Gangotri-Gaumukh-Tapovan. This lake, formed by the melting water of glaciers, has a fascinating reflection of the peaks of Thalai Sagar, Bhrigupanth and Meru on its clear, crystal transparent surface. Harish Negi, Deputy Director of Gangotri National Park, told Ians in a special conversation, Kedartal is not just a place to draw, it is a place to experience the confluence of soul and nature. Every person who reaches here understands his small identity in the vastness of the Himalayas in a new meaning. The Gangotri-Kedartal trek is counted among the most beautiful but challenging routes of the park. The start of gangotri, from where travelers through climbing, dense deodar forests, steep footpaths and rocky morene to achieve this divine lake. Negi explains that the route to Kedartal Lake is not only exciting, but also emphasizes many wonderful aspects of Himalayan ecology. Rare vegetation, wildlife such as Himalayan -blue sheep (Bharal) and black bear can be seen along the way. The vicinity of Kedartal remains calm and meditative for most of the year. There are a few seasonal camps and meditation places for saints and ways on the banks of the lake, from where the Thalaya Sagar and Bhrigupanth Peaks radiate a golden glow in the first rays of the sun. At sunrise, the reflection of the lake seems to be meditating on the Himalayas. Negi says that special monitoring is done on drawing activities to maintain the environmental balance in the Kedartal area. He said that our priority is to ensure that the tractors respect the peace, cleanliness and ecology of this place. Kedartal is the holy jewel of the Himalayas that we must preserve for the coming generations. The natural beauty of Kedartal not only affects the eyes, but also the soul.
