EXCLUSIVE: Kelli O’Hara (The Gilded Age, Master of Sex) has joined the recurring cast of CBS’s Country Sheriffand her character has a family connection to multiple characters.
O’Hara will play Miranda, Sheriff Mickey Fox’s (Morena Baccarin) ex-sister-in-law. Sharp-tongued and formidable, she’s never seen eye to eye with Mickey, although they share the pain of parenting children struggling with addiction. As a successful businesswoman and the wealthiest woman in Edgewater, Miranda is a woman who is not to be trifled with.
Mickey’s ex-husband is Travis Fraley, played by Christopher Gorham on the Friday night series, a spinoff of the network’s Fire Country. Miranda is Travis’ sister and aunt to his and Mickey’s daughter, Skye (Amanda Arcuri).
Country Sheriff follows straight-shooting sheriff Mickey Fox (Baccarin), the stepsister of Cal Fire’s division chief Sharon Leone (Diane Farr of Fire Country), who investigates criminal activity as she patrols the streets of small-town Edgewater while contending with her ex-con father (W. Earl Brown) and a mysterious incident involving her wayward daughter.
The series also stars Michele Weaver as Cassidy Campbell and Matt Lauria as Nathan Boone.
Executive producers are showrunner Matt Lopez, Max Thieriot, Tony Phelan, Joan Rater, Jerry Bruckheimer, and KristieAnne Reed for JBTV. The series is produced by CBS Studios.
O’Hara is a Tony Award-winner, Emmy and Grammy-nominated actress. She won the 2015 Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of Anna Leonowens in “The King and I.” She currently stars as Aurora Fane in the Julian Fellowes period drama, HBO’s The Gilded Age.
