Kerala BJP delegation met President Murmu, informed about Sabarimala gold scam

Thiruvananthapuram, October 21 (IANS). A delegation led by Kerala BJP president Rajiv Chandrasekhar met President Draupadi Murmu and apprised him of public concerns on various issues, including the alleged misappropriation of gold at the Sabarimala temple. That meeting took place at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday evening. Earlier on Tuesday, President Murmu reached the state capital on a four-day visit to Kerala, which will include a pilgrimage to the Sabarimala temple and various official engagements. Governor Rajendra V. Arlekar, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and senior officials welcomed him at the airport. From the airport, President Murmu reached Raj Bhavan, where she will stay during her visit. The BJP delegation apprised President Murmu of public concerns on various issues, including the alleged misappropriation of gold at the Sabarimala temple. Along with Rajiv Chandrasekhar, the delegation included former Governor and BJP National Executive Member Kummanam Rajasekharan, former Union Minister V. Muraleedharan, former State BJP President K. Surendran, BJP General Secretary S. Suresh and former Director General of Police and the State BJP Vice President R. Srilekha. The delegation also handed over a replica of the Anantha Padmanabhaswamy Temple, a symbol of Kerala’s spiritual heritage, to President Murmu. President Murmu will reach Nilakkal by air force helicopter at 10:20 on Wednesday and then go to Pamba by road. After performing rituals at the Pamba Ganpati temple, she will climb the Sabarimala hill in a special Gorkha jeep along with Governor Arlekar and his wife. She is expected to reach Sannidhanam for Darshan on Wednesday afternoon and will later stay at the Devaswom guest house. After his return, the governor will host a dinner in his honor. During the rest of his visit, President Murmu former President KR Narayanan, participates in the centenary celebrations of Sivagiri and St. Teresa’s Colleges and inaugurate the platinum jubilee of St. Thomas College, Palai.
