Kerala: CM Vijayan's daughter farm appeal in the Supreme Court to remain single judge's order
Thiruvananthapuram, October 13 (IANS). There has been a new turn in the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) investigating the IT company Exalogic of Veena Vijayan, daughter of Kerala’s chief minister, Pinarayi Vijayan. Veena Vijayan disputed the order of a single right bank in the Karnataka High Court on Monday that refused to remain the investigation in February last year. The Divisional Bank issued notices to the SFIO and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and scheduled the next trial for December 3. The development comes last year in the background of the Karnataka High Court and refuses to remain the SFIO investigation in Exalogic, which was the chief minister of Vijayan, as Veena Vijayan is the director of the company. The court then issued a short order in which the SFIO could continue, with a detailed verdict issued later. The SFIO action is based on the findings of an earlier preliminary investigation conducted by the Registrar of Companies (ROC), which began after the Mla Mathew Koozhalanadan congress cited media reports with an income tax officer. The report claims that Exalogic RS 1.72 crore received from the Kochi-based mining company CMRL, in which Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation has a 13 percent stake. SFIO has already recorded the statements of CMRL and KSIDC officials. Now that the appeal is before a department bank, all eyes are on the next legal move by Veena Vijayan, including the possibility that she will take the case to the Supreme Court if the order goes against her. By the way, Veena Vijayan’s submission of the appeal request in the Karnataka High Court is coming at a time when it was reported that Vijayan’s son Vivek Kiran Vijayan was called a notice by the maintenance department in the SNC Lavalin case, in which Vijayan was also called. This case is in the Supreme Court. -SYANS SCH Share this story Tags
