Thiruvananthapuram, October 8 (IANS). The Kerala cabinet on Wednesday decided to start an ambitious public outreach and feedback initiative called Nava Keralam – Citizens Response Program, to judge and strengthen welfare and development schemes across the state. In a statement issued by the Office of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, the program performed from January 1 to February 28, 2026, and its purpose is to establish a structured dialogue between citizens and the administration. The initiative will focus on collecting development proposals, identifying local needs, evaluating welfare programs and collecting feedback to improve their efficiency. Information will also be taken on the execution of other government schemes and infrastructure projects. The program is offered by the state’s social volunteer network, which ensures a wide participation of communities at grassroots level. Essential work, including training sessions and awareness campaigns, will be performed before the start of the program. To guide and monitor the implementation, the government has decided to form a four-member advisory committee and a state executive committee. Committees will also be formed on the panchayat, municipality, corporation, constituency and district level, which will include officers and experts. The director of the Department of Information and Public Relations is the task of coordinating this effort. The State Advisory Committee includes General Secretary E. Jayathilak, general secretary of the chief minister km Abraham, IMG director K. Jayakumar and Professor Saji Gopinath of IIM Kozhikode. Officials said the purpose of the exercise is to prepare an extensive study report containing the priorities for the development of regional development, which identifies shortcomings in existing projects and to collect proposals from the public. This report will serve as a reference document to form future development planning and improve welfare schemes. –Is SCH/DKP Share This Story Tags
