BSNL Broadband Connection Mandatory in Greater Noida Society, Credai's letter to Greno Authority
Greater Noida, June 3 (IANS). With an important step, the larger Noida Authority has made Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) compulsory under all residential associations of the region. Below, the builder and resident Welfare Association (RWA) will not prevent BSNL from providing broadband and other telecommunications services in their societies. In this regard, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority issued a letter to Credai NCR-Westn UP). The letter mentions the concerns that BSNL raised that Builders and RWA do not allow them to provide services in many residential associations, disrupting the freedom to choose the customer service provider. BSNL mentioned in its letter that it is a 100 percent public sector of the Government of India and that it provides telecommunications services at affordable rates across the country. BSNL contracted with builders, tips and RWA for FTTH (Fiber to the Home) services to provide broadband facilities in newly developed residential and commercial complexes. BSNL says that in many societies they are also prevented from serving in suitable (TNF) areas from a technical point of view, which is a violation of customer rights. According to the Competition Act 2002 (Amendment 2007), consumers were given the freedom to choose the service provider and the district administration also supported it. In a letter signed by additional CEO of the Authority, Soumya Srivastava, Credai was requested to direct the builders associated with it to allow BSNL to provide services in their projects. The purpose of this decision is to give better options to consumers and promote competition in telecommunications services. This step gives millions of thousands of societies of Greater Noida the opportunity to get more affordable and diverse telecommunications services. Not only will it increase the comfort of customers, but it is also in line with the telecom policy of the government. -Ians pkt/psk/gkt share this story tags
