This time, the government decided to implement the Paddy purchases program in a phased way. According to sources, Paddy purchase starts from October 1 in Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri and Sitapur Districts of the Western -Auttar Pradesh and Lucknow divisions. At the same time, this process starts from November 1 in Districts of Lucknow, Rae Bareli and Unnao of the East -Auttar Pradesh and Lucknow divisions. Officials say that the goal of starting purchases in a phased way is to balance the storage system and pay to the farmers on time. The responsibility was entrusted to the Mandi Parishad, Food Division and Co -operative Associations for the establishment of Paddy purchases centers. The administration claims that farmers will not be allowed to experience any problems. Moisture details and weighing facilities are provided at the centers. In addition, the emphasis is on making the online payment system more transparent. By Tuesday (September 30), more than 23,500 farmers have registered across the state for Paddy Sale. The registration process continues through online portal and cooperative associations. Farmers are advised to get themselves registered before selling paddy, otherwise they cannot participate in the purchase. Special monitoring is arranged at Paddy purchases this time. The administration says that the role of middle members will be fully eliminated and that direct purchase of farmers will be assured. For this, the district magistrates were instructed to perform regular inspections. According to the government’s data, millions of tons of paddy are acquired in the Kharif season in Uttar Pradesh every year. This purchase not only ensures the revenue of the farmers, but also ensures the availability of Paddy for the Public Distribution System (PDS).
