Know the unheard story of RSS history! Shocking moment to Dr. Hedgewar, when the responsibility of Sarsanchalak got
The post of head of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is called ‘Sarsanchchalak’. The RSS founder Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgar became the first Sarsanchalak. He was followed by Guru Golwalkar, Madhukar Dattatreya Deoras, Rajju Bhaiya, prof. Sudarshan and currently Mohan Bhagwat took place. However, Laxman Vasudev Paranaye has also held this post for some time. In general, the second largest position in the RSS is considered of Sarkaryavah (general secretary) and a formal election is held every three years for this post. Currently, Dattatreya Hosbole holds this position. However, the tradition of Sarsanchalak is that Sarsanchchalak himself chooses his successor to keep in mind the advice of senior officials. When the first Sarsanchalak was elected to the RSS, he was not consulted or informed or consulted. Instead, senior RSS officials discussed and announced their names. The RSS was founded in 1925 on the day of Vijayadashami after he named “Sarsanchchalak” to Dr. Hedgehar heard. However, the post of Sarsanchalak did not remain the next four years. Dr. Hedgar’s biographical author Nana Palkar writes that in October 1929 discussions were held within the RSS to organize a large meeting in Nagpur. Dr. Hedgar realized that a meeting of loyal and dedicated workers was more important. On October 19, 1929, he sent a letter to all the RSS leaders from the state in which he was requested to attend a meeting held on November 9 and 10 in Nagpur. He also wrote that people who are dedicated to this purpose can also join it. When all champions, RSS leaders, senior officials and volunteers met on the first day, it was felt that an administrative system was needed, and that a leader also needed it to lead it. Interestingly, Dr. Hedgedwar kept away from these discussions. Senior RSS officials, including Vishwanath Rao Kelkar, Balaji Huddar, Appaji Joshi, Krishna Rao Moharir, Tatyaji Kalikar, Bapurao Muthal, Baba Saheb Krag and Martand Rao Jog participated in the discussion. The next day, a joint program was held at Nagpur volunteers. Mohite’s Wada was selected for this event. It was the second time in the history of RSS when Dr. Hedge the first branch of RSS started there. Then Dr. Hedgar stands near the saffron flag, all the people were standing near the entrance. Suddenly Wardha RSS screams Head Appaji Joshi loudly, “Sarsanchchalak, Pranam, I … do … three.” It is a common greeting to the saffron flag in the RSS, which the volunteers view their Guru. When he said ‘I’, everyone put his right hand on his chest, just his thumbs that touched his chest and his palms to the ground. When he said “two”, his head bowed and he came to his normal position when he said “three”. Dr. Heddwar remained speechless. Meanwhile, Appaji Joshi assessed everyone about the decisions made in the previous meeting and explained extensively how the RSS administrative system was established led by Sarsanchicak. Dr. Heddwar was elected to the first Sarsanchalak. Dr. Hedgar was not satisfied with his appointment as Sarsanchalak, after which Vishwanath Rao Kelkar delivered his effective speech. Although Dr. Heddwar at the time remained silent, he later expressed his dissatisfaction with Appaji Joshi, especially the way in which the “Sarsanchchalak Pranam” ceremony was held in honor of him. However, Appaji Joshi said the need for a formal head to run the organization smoothly, and everything else was enthusiastic. He also said that if he had been told earlier, he would not have agreed. Apart from Sarsanchalak that day, two other important posts were also announced, and the names of two senior volunteers were announced for him. Balaji Huddar was elected Sarkaryavah and Martandrao Jog was elected to Sarasena. Although these posts later disappeared from the CEO of the RSS, the posts of Sarsanchchalak and Sarkaryavah are still regarded as the highest posts among the RSS and its allies.
