Kolkata Gang Rape Case: TMC condemns Kalyan Banerjee, Madan Mitra because he made controversial comments

Kolkata, June 29 (IANS). The Trinamool Congress officially condemned a party member and a MLA on Saturday, making them controversial remarks about alleged rape of a lawyer at the college campus of Kolkata. The party condemned the four -time Lok Sabha member of the Trinamole Congress and Senior Proponent of the Calcutta High Court, Kalyan Banerjee and Party -Mla Madan Mitra. The three accused were arrested after the gang rape with a 24 -year -old student at the South Calcutta Law College in Kolkata. All three accused are associated with the student branch of the Trinamole Congress (Trinamool Chhatra Parishad). In this case, the MP of the Trinamole Congress, Kalyan Banerjee, made a statement in which he said that if a friend raped his friend, the government or the police could not provide security anywhere. His statement caused a lot of controversy. Later, Madan Mitra also made a controversial statement. It is alleged that the rape incident gave a message to all the girls that they should not go to university if the college is closed. Both remarks have created a stir in the political and social circles of West Benglals. The Trinamol congress issued a statement on Saturday claiming that the comments made by Banerjee and Mitra in the case were made in their personal capacity, and that the party had separated itself from their statements and strongly condemned them. The statement said: “These ideas do not reflect the position of the party in any way. Our attitude is firm; our zero tolerance to crimes is our zero tolerance and we demand the most stringent punishment for all involved in this horrible crime.” Meanwhile, the Calcutta Sauma Subra High Court on Saturday, Chief Justice of the Calcutta TS High Court, wrote a letter to Shivgananam demanding himself investigating the court and conducting an investigation by the CBI in the rape case of the city’s law college. -Ians Sch/psk shares this story tags
