Kolkata, October 23 (IANS). A massive fire broke out in a printing press in Amherst Street area of North Kolkata. Officials said no casualties have been reported so far. As soon as information about the fire was received, seven fire engines reached the spot. Firefighters are trying to control the fire. Due to the fire, the entire area was filled with smoke, due to which panic spread among the people. According to the information, the fire broke out when people were preparing for the festival of Bhai Dooj. This area is a congested area, so firefighters have a lot of trouble putting out the fire. The fire was so terrible that smoke spread throughout the area and firefighters are trying to control the fire with gas masks. The exact cause of the fire is not yet known. Initial investigation by the fire brigade indicates that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit. A fire official said: “We are trying to control the fire. Excessive smoke is causing difficulty for our firefighters.” It is said that the local people saw black smoke coming from the printing press this morning. After this, the fire brigade and police were immediately notified. First, three fire trucks reached the spot one by one. However, the area was so congested that firefighters had to walk a few meters to the spot. Later, four more fire engines reached the spot. Officials said that it was a printing press, and therefore a large amount of flammable material was kept there. As a result, the fire spread quickly and quickly became severe.
