Komnas Human Rights examine the potential violation of human rights in the MBG poisoning case
Jakarta – Chairman of the National Commission on Human Rights Anis Hidayah highlighted cases of mass poisoning for free nutrition programs (MBG). Anis said his party deployed an investigative team to gather facts and information regarding alleged human rights violation. “As far as MBG is concerned, this National Human Rights Commission has collected facts and information on poisoning in different regions,” Anis said after a meeting with the House of Representatives Commission XIII in the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (9/29/2025). He made sure within 1-2 days that the findings of the National Human Rights Commission will be revealed to the public. “Later, we will convey the matters and allegations of potential violation of human rights where our recommendations are to the government. But we have attention to this MBG case,” he said. He said that the investigative team still identifies the matter at this time. Anis said his party would later coordinate with the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) and other related parties regarding the findings. “Currently identify the initial cases of cases in different regions and then we are investigating to make attitudes and will go to the field later, to draw up a recommendation that is expected to improve management so that matters do not happen later,” he said. As is well known, the head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, was named by President Prabowo Subianto after the MBG’s MBG program. Dadan explained to Prabowo regarding the cause of poisoning. In his report, Dadan transferred the number of Nutrition Provisory Services (SPG) units that have reached 9,615 units so far. In total, there are 31 million recipients. “Achieving the number of operational sppg reached 9,615 and served about 31 million beneficiaries,” Dadan said in his statement on Sunday (9/28).
