In Prayagraj, a case of cyber fraud came to light with former UP IPS officer DK Panda, known as ‘Second Radha’. This time, cyber thugs sent a false link on WhatsApp and blew £ 4.32 Lakh from their bank account. This fraud occurred when DK Panda was looking for the toll-free number of its bank’s Mundera branch on the internet. After the complaint of this incident, police began investigating by registering a fir at the Dhumanganj police station in Prayagraj. DK Panda is originally a resident of Odisha and was an IPS official of 1971. In 2005 he voluntarily resigned from service. After the resignation, he took the form of ‘Second Radha’ and began to wear sixteen decorations and wore women’s clothing. At the time, this matter was in the news. He declared himself the ‘second Radha’ of Lord Krishna. He currently lives in Pritam Nagar area of Prayagraj. The incident happened on September 9 when DK Panda searched the toll -free number of its bank branch on the internet. At the same time, he received a call in which the caller proposed a help with the bank and described himself as ‘Rahul Kumar’. He then sent a link to DK Panda on WhatsApp and asked him to click. Once clicked on the link, the thugs were killed and got bank information and then transferred an amount of £ 4,32,043 from his account to four times. DK Panda said the thugs withdrew from its account in four times – for the first time £ 1,95.023, £ 95.008 for the second time, £ 98,000 for the third time and £ 44.012 for the fourth time. The next day of the incident, he made a written complaint in the cybercrime, but the fir was filed with the Dhumanganj police station. He also provided the collar’s mobile number to the police, based on the investigation. It is noteworthy that this is not the first time DK Panda is a victim of cyber fraud. In October 2024 he also claimed that he earned £ 381 crore from online trade, cheated by cyber thugs. In this case, he also filed a case with the Dhumanganj police station. Amar Nath Rai, in the Dhumganj police station, said the case was serious cyber fraud and that police were investigated on the basis of technical evidence. This incident once again shows how cyber thugs target experienced and trained people. The general public must learn from this incident and avoid sharing personal information on any unknown link or call. Share this story -tags
